Membership and Governance Guidelines
Organizational Eligibility
The Academy extends membership opportunities to established organizations and professional bodies that demonstrate a steadfast commitment to the advancement of nursing research. To qualify for admission, an applicant's core mission and strategic vision must be fundamentally aligned with the overarching objectives and values of WANS.
Board Representation and Voting Rights
In the interest of maintaining a balanced and equitable governance structure, each member organization is officially entitled to one vote on the Board of Directors. This ensures that all constituent bodies have an equal voice in the strategic direction and decision-making processes of the Academy.
Admission and Maintenance of Membership
Membership within the Academy is formally conferred following a majority affirmative vote by the WANS Board of Directors. Continued qualification for membership is contingent upon the member's ongoing adherence to the Academy’s standards.
Membership status remains subject to periodic review and may be revoked by a majority affirmative vote of the Board. Revocation proceedings may be initiated if a member organization engages in conduct that compromises the reputation of the Academy or acts in direct opposition to the Academy’s established goals and ethical mandates.
